During the summer (Easter to September), additional shows and events are introduced which give you a fantastic opportunity to experience close encounters with some amazing birds and animals.
Please note: We are sure you appreciate that the ‘flying’ events are weather permitting and so may not happen on very windy/rainy days. Thank you.
As you stroll around the Park you will see many colourful birds including rare and beautiful parrots, flamingos, toucans and red-billed choughs, plus owls, kookaburras and cranes. With over 130 species and a total of over 1,200 birds there is a stunning range to see.
PENGUIN FEEDING
Learn about our breeding group of Humboldt’s Penguins at their twice daily feeding times – a few lucky children are chosen to help feed the penguins their fish, and at certain times during the summer when the penguins are not breeding, we are able to run special ‘Penguin Photocalls’ (the photocalls will being reintroduce soon)- for details please click here.
EAGLES OF PARADISE DISPLAY
The amazing summer ‘Eagles of Paradise’ display gives you the opportunity to see birds like Archie the Bald Eagle close up as they fly over and around you during these very dynamic and informative flying displays. A couple of lucky children get to take part in the presentation and hold a Barn Owl. Read more here.
THE FREE FLYING BIRD SHOW
The summer ‘Free Flying Bird Show’ is an opportunity to see and learn about many other species as they fly over your head and in-between the crowds. Read more here.
FLIGHT OF THE RAINBOWS
During the ‘Flight of the Rainbows’ experience you can buy small pots of nectar to feed the forty plus Lorikeets that come swooping out from their enclosure to drink their honey-enriched food from the hand of our visitors. It’s a fantastic experience! Read more here
CARROT TIME IN THE FUN FARM (Please note this will be reintroduce soon)
A lovely opportunity to get up close with mini donkeys, pygmy goats, and sheep. Plus we have various other smaller animals including rabbits and guinea pigs. See more here
