Golden Conure

Also known as ‘Queen of Bavaria’s Conure’, this lovely parrot has become vulnerable for many reasons: Trapping and destruction of nest sites, deforestation due to road building and human colonisation. They have also had to face the flooding of an important habitat in order to create a reservoir.

Little is known about the habits and behaviour of wild Golden Conures. The World Parrot Trust has a fund which will first help to pay for research to pinpoint the problems this species faces in the wild.

Several chicks have been hand-reared at Paradise Park, but ideally we would like them raise their own young.
