February Half Term – Poop Trail Quiz
11th to 25th February
The POOP TRAIL – 11th to 19th February
Animals come in all different shapes and sizes and so does their poo! Here is your opportunity to get the scoop on the poop with Paradise Parks fun and educational ‘Poop Trail’ Quiz.
Learn how animals and birds use poop to define territory, establish status, find mates, build houses, and keep in touch with the rest of the species. Poop is also an ideal way of studying an animal without having to capture it… now that’s nifty.
So, this Half Term come and sniff out the clues and look out for piles of info on this fun and educational trail. Once you have completed the Poop Trail, you can claim your official ‘Paradise Park Professor of Poop’ Certificate which will recognise your excellence in this field!
ANIMAL ENRICHMENT SESSION with the Keepers 10am to 12noon, 11th to 19th February
Learn how to make fun, interesting, interactive enrichment food and toys which are key in encouraging a range of normal behaviours that birds and mammals find rewarding, providing them with mental stimulation, social interaction and exercise.
MEET & GREET SESSION at 1:30pm (weather permitting)
A chance to meet some of the wonderful characters at the Park with either (or maybe all) of the following… the beautiful ‘Frank’ the European Eagle Owl, our very chatty ‘Popeye’ the Double-yellow headed Amazon, and the lovely ‘Barney’ the Blue & Gold Macaw.
HUMBOLDT’S PENGUIN FEED TIMES
See the penguins being feed and listen to a fascinating Keeper talk at the twice daily feeding times, 10:45am and 2:30pm.
GOAT & SHEEP FEEDING (limited daily supply)
Help feed the cute Pygmy goats and Ouessant sheep down on the Fun Farm. There are 150 little bags which are 50p each and available on entry.
JUNGLE EXPRESS TRAIN ‘Zebedee’
On good weather days Zebedee, the Jungle Express Train, will be out for a spin! You board the train near the picnic lawn and set off through the gardens of Glanmor House. It is just a small route of two circuits around the house grounds (not the whole Park) including the top section of Parrot Jungle, a trip through a tunnel leading to behind the scenes around the back of the house. For train times please check when you arrive. There is a small charge of £1 per person.
