Amber meets a friendly penguin at the Penguin Photocall
TOP TEN THINGS TO DO AT PARADISE PARK THIS SUMMER
- Children just love the Wildlife Hero Quiz. Wildlife, nature and the environment are at the heart of our brand new Wildlife Hero Quiz. Pick up your quiz booklet when you enter, navigate the map and look for the logo on signs around the Park to find the answers and claim your reward.
- Amazing flying shows, with the ‘Eagles of Paradise Display’ at 12noon – see Bald eagles, owls and hawks, Tangee the Palm-nut Vulture and more fly free near the Fun Farm!
- And in the afternoon at 3:30pm enjoy the ‘Free Flying Bird Show’ where beautiful parrots fly free, on the stage and across the picnic lawn (please note the flying displays are weather permitting).
- Every day you can see otter feeding at 10:30am and 4:30pm, plus join in Carrot Time in the Fun Farm at 11:30am.
- Experience ‘Flight of the Rainbows’. Option to buy small pots of nectar (£1) to help feed the forty plus little Lorikeet parrots that come swooping out from there enclosure down onto the awaiting crowd. It’s a fantastic experience! This is at 2pm each day.
- Have you ever wanted to meet a penguin up close? The Penguin Photocall is a visitor favourite! We have two penguin feeding sessions at 11am and 3pm and a few lucky children are asked to help feed them. This is usually followed by the Penguin Photocall – have your camera ready! Penguin Photocall important note: After penguin feeding time there is usually a chance to meet one of our hand-reared penguins. This is subject to the birds, their breeding seasons and moulting status – we don’t force them to take part so are not able to promise it will always take place. The photocalls can get very busy. Please be aware once everyone waiting in the queue has been through, the sessions do end. Thank you.
- Discover the JungleBarn indoor Play Centre where you can walk the rope bridge, swoosh down the Fireman’s Pole, get dizzy on the spinning discs, climb the nets, fly down the slides, and the little ones can try their hand at the dancing balls in the toddler’s zone. Plenty to exhaust the liveliest of children!
- A tasty lunch awaits you in the Otter Pool Café. From locally made cakes and pasties to delicious Ploughman’s Lunches and hot dishes, it’s a great place to sit and watch the otters as they play in their pool. Or pop over to the ‘Bird in Hand Pub’ at the entrance to the Park.
- Take a stroll around the Park and see over 1,000 birds, including many endangered species like the Sun Conure, Citron-crested Cockatoo and the Blue-throated Macaws. Plus beautiful Red pandas, rare Red squirrels and playful Asian otters and on the Fun Farm see mini donkeys, fun pygmy goats and sheep, and cute rabbits and guinea pigs. More species info here.
- 66 million years ago most dinosaurs died out, and only bird dinosaurs remained. So when taking a stroll around the Park, watch out for some extinct ones lurking around corners, but remember birds evolved in many ways, which enabled them to survive in lots of different habitats. Today there are at least 11,000 bird species and you can see over 130 species at Paradise Park!
Before you leave you can buy a GREAT VALUE Return Ticket for just £3.99 valid until 22nd March 2020. Or you could by a Season Ticket and come in as many times as you like this year!
We look forward to welcoming many of you soon 🙂

From Julie W “Absolutely great day out for young and old alike. We were a party ranging in age from 10 months to 62 years and we all really loved it. Highlights were the birds of prey display, parrots display and penguin feeding. A full day out and lots of fun!”
From Andy B “totally fantastic day out for the whole family, and for all ages. Make sure you plan your day around the feeding sessions and the flying shows. Highly recommended”
From Julie M “Sometimes if you go to zoos etc its a shame to see birds in small cages etc but that is absolutely not the case here, the entire park and enclosures themselves are spacious, stimulating for each animal and beautifully kept. Everywhere is clean and the animals all seem very very well looked after and loved. The small park and indoor play area are lovely, my son loved the train ride and there were lots of benches to rest and oppurtunities to get involved with feeding/watching feeds etc. i loved even just walking around and seeing the plants and different flowers, it is beautiful here. Will definitely come back when in cornwall for other holidays, worth every penny.”

From Amy C “I really love it here, and have been many times over the years! You can tell that the animals are really well cared for. Hopefully it won’t be long before I’m back again!”
From Sandra C “Absolutely lovely day out. We mainly came to find dinosaurs in the special trail quiz running this summer, having a dinosaur mad 2 year old. However were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed the park. The staff were friendly and obviously love the birds and animals. There was a lot of opportunity to interact as well. Even got to stroke a penguin! There is a nice soft play area, remember your socks for this one, adults and kids need them. Although can purchased for a pound if need be. Overall worth the trip.”
