One of the main jobs for our Keepers is creating fun, interesting, interactive enrichment activities which are key in encouraging a range of normal behaviours that birds and mammals find rewarding, providing them with mental stimulation, social interaction and exercise.

Entertaining and educational quizzes and daily events are run every day and change throughout the year. Great fun for all the family.

** PROTECTING OUR BIRDS To help protect our 1,200 birds we a walk-through footbath (like a wet mat) at the entrance which contains a ministry approved disinfectant against bird flu. The Tropics walk-through aviary is also closed at present. If you keep birds, especially poultry and waterfowl at home, can we respectfully ask that you change your outer clothing and footwear if they are used when looking after your birds before visiting us. Thank you.

Dinosaur Summer Adventure Quiz

From 23rd May - Half Term through to end of August.

From mighty giants to the birds we see every day, you will uncover amazing facts, big surprises, and become a ‘Professor of Palaeontology’ on the fun quiz!

Jungle Express Train Zebedee

On good weather days Zebedee, the Jungle Express Train, will be out for a spin! Board the train near the picnic lawn and set off through the gardens of Glanmor House on a small route of two circuits around the house grounds (not the whole Park). Includes the top section of Parrot Jungle, a trip through a tunnel with Twinkly lights leading to behind the scenes at the back of the house. For train times please check when you arrive. There is a small extra charge.

Goat and sheep feeding

Help feed the cute Pygmy goats and Ouessant sheep down on the Fun Farm. Each day there are 150 little bags of ‘Goat and Sheep Food’ which are available to buy on entry.

JungleBarn Indoor Play Centre

A fantastic venue that ensures endless fun whatever the weather! Features a special toddlers’ area and massive multi-level soft play. Children can enjoy a good scramble around with an array of exciting features such as Spinning Steps, Astra Slide, the Big Blue, Drop and Double Drop slides, ladders, climbing ropes, Squeeze rollers and Roller Poles, X Changer, Fireman’s Pole, Corner Climber, Tube slide, Swing over nets, and more!

10:30am Penguin Feeding Time and Talk

Hear the Keepers talking about the wonderful Humboldt’s Penguin colony and the individual penguins you will see at their pool in the walled garden.

11am Eagles of Paradise Display

Watch birds of prey like Dakota the Bald Eagle and Tangee the vulture fly free near the Fun Farm, plus a great up-close photo opportunity at the end of the display.

11:45am Lorikeet Feeding Experience - help feed the little parrots

Purchase some nectar at the 2pm Lorikeet Feeding Experience and join in the fun feeding these lively, mischievous, colourful parrots in the walk-through Rainbow Aviary. Have your camera ready!

 

1:30pm Dino Show

Meet our huge new ginormous dinosaur stars, along with some of the cutest baby dinosaurs, as our expert wranglers bring them to life.

Discover how dinosaurs didn’t really disappear – birds are their living descendants. They didn’t just evolve from dinosaurs, THEY ARE DINOSAURS!

2:45pm The fascinating ‘Free Flying Bird Show’

Including Amazon parrots, choughs and others, flying free on the stage and across the picnic lawn. A wonderful experience seeing these amazing birds fly over and around you, with fascinating insights into the species from our knowledgeable Keepers.

The impressive Scarlet Macaw Spectacle

At the end of the 2:45pm show

You will be moved by the sight of these stunningly beautiful parrots flying out of their aviary and soaring into the sky. Another great photo opportunity.

Have a cockatoo fly to your hand!

At the end of the 2:45pm show

A unique and fun way for the staff and birds to fundraise for Paradise Park’s conservation projects. You have the opportunity to go up on the main stage to give a £1 or £2 donation. Roseate Cockatoos Billy, Rizzo or Rio will be ready to fly to your hand, collect the coin, fly back to the presenter and place it into the collection tin. Great fun and a very popular experience, all for a good cause.

 

3:30pm Penguin Feeding Time and Talk

Hear about our wonderful penguin colony from one of our Keepers, and see them being fed. Head to the walled garden where you will find their enclosure.

4.15pm Otter Feeding

Watch the adorable otter family, including mum Pippin and dad Katarni, along with their teenage youngsters, during feeding times.

Paradise Island Outdoor Playground

‘Paradise Island’ outdoor playground with climbing towers, a slide into the ‘river’, and the chance to ride a rocking dolphin.

Gift shop closes at 5pm and Park closes at  5:30pm (last entry 4.30pm).
