Flamingo Webcam

Flamingo webcam!

Paradise Park’s flamingo flock lives in the walled garden and the webcam shows the lagoon area where they skim for algae and build their nests out of the mud. Should there be bad windy weather, they will go into shelter for their protection.

UPDATE
On Sunday morning (2nd November) our young flamingo Frankie managed to take flight from the walled garden at Paradise Park in Hayle despite having clipped feathers. She was seen at the Park at 8am, near Porthtowan at 10.15am, then above Copperhouse Pool, Hayle at 2.08pm. Staff are out searching the area and would welcome any sightings. Call 01736 753365, email info@paradisepark.org.uk or message on social media.

———————————-
Our only previous Caribbean flamingo chick is called DEREK, and hatched in 2019.

Derek at 17 days old and Keeper Becky at Paradise Park Cornwall
Derek Day 119 with the main flamingo flock

Derek was hand-reared by Keeper Becky with the help of the Keeper team. We had to wait until dna analysis of the egg shell before we knew if Derek (the name Becky gave the chick initially) was male or female. We got so used to ‘Derek’, that when we got confirmation she was female we decided to keep the name.
