One of the main jobs for our Keepers is creating fun, interesting, interactive enrichment activities which are key in encouraging a range of normal behaviours that birds and mammals find rewarding, providing them with mental stimulation, social interaction and exercise.

Hayle Citizen of the Year 2025, Nick Reynolds

Congratulatiions to Paradise Park’s Director Nick Reynolds who has been awarded ‘Citizen of the Year 2025’ by Hayle Town Council for his tremendous work and dedication to the local community.

Nick received his Citizen of the Year award from Hayle Mayor Jeremy Martin

Nick is Vice Chair of:

Hayle Carnival (Hayle Carnival is on Saturday 14th June 2025)
Hayle in Bloom (Hayle in Bloom judging is on Thursday 3rd July 2025)

He is a trustee of the Ronnie Richards Memorial Charity, which installs defibrillators and bleed control kits across Cornwall. Also a committee member of the West Cornwall Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride which raises funds for men’s health. It’s on Sunday 18th May, starting at Penzance Prom and finishing at the Bird in Hand Pub at the entrance to Paradise Park. 280 riders are registered to take part, more info HERE.

Nick has also helped on many occasions with local wildlife rescues (click here) as well as giving advice where he can, recently on an owlet and an injured deer.

Director Nick Reynolds commented “I love being involved with so many local groups and was honoured to receive the award which I’m happy to accept on behalf of all the people that work alongside me for free, giving back a little to the things they love.”
