Spreo Starling
Also known as the ‘Superb Starling’, the feathers of this species appear metalic green and blue in bright sunlight.
Both adults share the nest building, egg incubation and rearing of chicks. They are omniverous, enjoying a wide range of foods including fruit, minced meat and, especially during the breeding season, insects including mealworms.
Spreo Starlings have bred regularly at Paradise Park, collecting grass to build their nest within a box.
